The years final public screening of Wetlands Preserved will take place in an appropriate setting: New York City. On Wednesday December 6 the film will be shown at the Anthology Film Archives as part of the New Filmmakers series. The documentary, which traces the story of Tribeca nightclub Wetlands Preserve, will screen on the other side of Manhattan, as the theater is located on the lower east side (32 Second Avenue, near the corner of Second Street). Wetland Preserved, which was named Best Documentary at the Asheville Film Festival and Best Unreleased Film at the Stony Awards, incorporates archival footage, soundboard recordings and the efforts of a dozen digital animators to chronicle the clubs tenure from February 1989 through September 2001. The film features music from Phish, Blues Traveler, moe., The Disco Biscuits, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Ben Harper, Spearhead, 311, Ani DiFranco, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Spin Doctors, Fishbone, Agnostic Front and many additional artists.
