The Disco Biscuits and Umphreys McGee continued to blend into a single unit this weekend. Friday Umphreys McGee performed the first of two shows at New Yorks Nokia Theater, while the Disco Biscuits Marc Brownstein and Aron Magner revived their Conspirator side-project with DJ Omen at the BB King Blues Club. After Umphreys McGees performance , Jake Cinninger and Kris Myers ventured a few blocks south to BB Kings and joined Conspirator for a good chunk of its set. Later Johnny Rabb, who is considered the worlds fastest drummer, joined the group onstage for a series of improvisations. Rabb hooked up with the Disco Biscuits pair through his new band Bio-Diesel, which features Brothers Past Clay Parnell and the Adam Deitch Projects Borahm Lee.

Collaborations continued Saturday during Umphreys McGees second performance at the Nokia when Jennifer Hartswick supplied lead vocals on a cover of Guns N Roses Sweet Child O’ Mine (which Umphreys McGee had not performed since October 16, 2000). Umphreys McGees Brendan Bayliss and Ryan Stasik will partner with the New Deals Darren Shearer and Jamie Shields as The Omega Moos at Chicagos
Martyrs’ this weekend.
