On the Friday following Thanksgiving, String Cheese Incident revisited its past during a show at Atlantas Fox Theatre, by performing its studio debut Born On The Wrong Planet during its second set. On Saturday night at San Franciscos Concourse Exhibition Center, the group took on its second studio effort, offering versions of the material from Round The Wheel in the order they appeared on the disc. The band opened its set with Samba DeGreeley and proceeded from there, closing out with the title track and then reappearing during the encore for Good Times Around the Bend.
New Years Eve was a two set affair that built its midnight countdown around the Star Trek theme. The show also offered a guest appearances by Bassnectar during a Dub Jam and a rap from Soul Eye during Birdland. Over the course of the night, the group also debuted some new cover tunes, including James Browns Sex Machine, as well as three songs with space themes: Herbie Hancocks Rockit, Elton Johns Rocket Man and David Bowies Ziggy Stardust which featured drummer Michael Travis on vocals (alas, when will someone cover the funk splendor that is the Space 1999 theme?).
The String Cheese Incident has no upcoming confirmed dates, and as previously announced, the group will perform only limited shows before the summer, after which guitarist Billy Nershi will leave the band.
