Bobby Previte has assembled a version of his Coalition of the Willing to join the Rose Ensemble music choir and visual artist Anna Kiraly for a multiple-media epic that will debut next month in Minneapolis. The Separation is a reimagination of both Guillaume Dufays 15th-century choral epic Missa Sancti Jacobi and Olivier Messiaens organ masterwork La Nativitu Seigneur. In this critical examination of religion in contemporary society, Hungarian artist Kiraly splashes her eerie animated films across Kleines dark story inspired by the dueling desires of conformity and individuality. Prevites Coalition will consist of himself, Marco Benevento on organ and Reed Mathis on electric guitar. The Separation will premiere at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis on February 2 and 3, and then travel to Buffalos Hallwalls at The Church on February 7 and 8.
