Acoustic Syndicate last performed over Memorial Day weekend 2005, where the groups two sets on Sunday night at Smilefest extended for nearly five hours. This spring however, nearly two years later, the band will return for a number of dates. First up is a gig at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC on March 3. After this, Acoustic Syndicate will perform a two night stand at Charlottes Visulite Theater on March 9 and 10. While the group and its fans no doubt will take joy in these performances, the band’s return also is tempered with sadness as earlier this month, Christie McMurry, the wife of Acoustic Syndicate’s Steve Big Daddy McMurry, was killed in an automobile accident on her way to work.
