Yesterday we reported that the Mutaytors Matthew Nash has been arrested for suspicion of an attempted lewd act on a child. In response to the arrest, the collective has issued the following statement on its website regarding his departure:

_The 30+ member music, dance, and fine arts collective known as The Mutaytor delivered its strongest show Wednesday night after the recent departure of its founder, Matty Nash.
Mr. Nash announced on January 31st that he is leaving the project to attend to personal issues and has great hopes that band will continue to provide new material now and in the future without him. _
_The band features over 30 musicians, dancers, and performance artists, and as an unsigned DIY project is poised to break into the mainstream. Over the past five years the Mutaytor has done countless shows from large festivals and nightclubs to civic charities and local music therapy groups. _
_Although this is a difficult time, the fan support has always been their inspiration: the Mutaytor will continue on. Re-organization under its current membership is in progress. Everyone involved with the band, extends deepest thanks to the fans for their loyal support. _
The Mutaytor is next scheduled to appear on March 1 and 2 at the Crystal Bay Club Casino in Tahoe, NV.
