Winter Jamfest 2007 came to a close Saturday with a two-night stand at Charleston, SCs The Pour House. Southern jam-favorites Pnuma Trio and Moonshine Still swapped headlining spots over the weekend, with Atlanta hip-hop heroes Obeah and Dirty Digits supplying support duties. Disco Biscuits drummer Allen Aucoin also stopped by the festivities Saturday, first joining Pnuma Trio for a brief jam and then sitting in with his old friends in Moonshine Still. Aucoin has performed with the group on several occasions since his Skydog Gypsy days, including the 2006 edition of Bonnaroo. Aucoins appearance also served as a fitting sendoff for Moonshine Still percussionist Bill Jarrett, who left the band following the Winter Jamfest.
As for Aucion’s current quartet, the Disco Biscuits are currently taking some time off while bassist Marc Brownstein celebrates the birth of his daughter Aliyah Sage. The group will perform at Langerado next weekend.
