Eager to help their new friends, in 2004 moe. began bringing Umphreys McGee onstage for full-band switchs during its performances. Usually the quintet would invite members of the group onstage for a jam which would then segue into an Umphreys McGee original, before finally segueing back into moe.s set. Last night, Umphreys McGee used the trick to help out one off their friends at Athens, GAs Georgia Theater. During Umphreys McGees second set local heroes Perpetual Groove emerged for a full-band segue during Ringo and preceded to offer their own Speed Queen. After Perpetual Groove completed the jam Umphreys McGee returned to finish Ringo. Umphreys McGees tour will continue tonight at Asheville, NCs The Orange Peel.
