Once again weve reached the ides of Adar which can only mean one thingPurim. A number of musicians will celebrate the holiday this Sunday with megilla, noisemakers and improv. Actually we cant speak to the first two but we can confirm that an event will take place at Brooklyns Southpaw on Sunday afternoon, which has been dubbed Aaron Dugan’s Booby Trap Improvisational Purim Musical Explosion. Artists slated to join guitarist Aaron Dugan include Matisyahu and Taylor McFerrin on beatbox as well as Brian Nadav (oud), Chris Tunkel (percussion), Jason Fraticelli (cuatro), Josh Werner (bass) Madhu Siddappa (drums), Tim Keiper (percussion) Travis Laplante (tenor sax) and Rob Marscher (keys).

Speaking of Marscher, his final two shows with Addison Groove Project will take place on the preceding two nights. This evening AGP will appear at Revolution Hall in Troy, NY and on Saturday at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Our senior editor Mike Greenhaus interview with Marscher, is currently featured on the site.
