While in Australia, this past weekend ALO shared a stage with an old friend. The location was the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival, where ALO was on the bill with such artists as Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Lee Scratch Perry, and John Mayer. During the second half of the ALO set, the band brought out its longtime pal and occasional collaborator, Jack Johnson. Johnson joined the group for such ALO originals as Girl, I Wanna Lay You Down and Wasting Time (Isla Vista Song) as well as Johnsons Breakdown and Mudfootball. ALO is off until May 5 when it opens a tour in support of its forthcoming Roses & Clover disc, which will be issued on Johnsons Brushfire Records label.
