The Disco Biscuits and Umphrey’s McGee will co-headline a summer tour

of small amphitheaters throughout the southeast. The longtime friends,
collectively dubbed D.U.M.B, will play a full show each night of the run
and alternate closing duties. The summer run will open June 27 at
Charlottesville, VA’s Charlottesville Amphitheatre and make stops at
Portsmouth, VA’s Ntelos Wireless Pavilion (6/28), Raleigh, NC’s The
Lincoln Theatre Street Stage (6/29), Atlanta’s Masquerade Music Park,
and Pompano Beach, FL’s Pompano Beach Amphitheatre (7/1). In order to
figure out who will close the tour’s final stop,
there will be a pre-show poker game between members of each band on
stage at the four preceding gigs. The winner of this poker game will
play the closing set in Pompano. The Disco Biscuits have also
confirmed that they will headline Baltimore’s Starscape festival on
June 9. A day before the electronica/rock festival, the Disco Biscuits
will play an intimate gig at Baltimore’s Sonar.
A handful of acts have also been added to the Disco Biscuits and
Umphrey’s McGee’s Trancegression Festival. In addition to multiple
performances by the festival’s headliners, Trancegression will feature
a number of Colorado-favorites, including Lotus, Pharcyde, Hot Buttered
Rum, Zilla, and Blackalicious, as well as late night sets by The
Greyboy Allstars and Galactic
The Disco Biscuits will play next at
the Chicago edition of the Green Apple Music & Arts Festival. Guitarist
Jon Gutwillig has also confirmed that his first solo acoustic
appearance in two years (with the lone exception of a spot on Relix’s Cold Turkey) will be
April 26 at Philadelphia’s North Star Bar.
