Umphreys McGee breezed down the east coast at a surprisingly rapid pace this weekend, but made time to catch up with a number of friends along the way. Brothers Past opened for the group Thursday at Bostons Avalon Ballroom. During the groups second set, Brothers Past drummer Ilya Stemkovsky, who first encountered Umphreys McGee during his OM Trio days, appeared on Robot World and Sludge and Death. A night later the group appeared at New Yorks Nokia Theater and invited out its summer touring partner Marc Brownstein for The Triple Wide and In the Kitchen at the start of its second set. Brownstein also helped the group announce Umphreys McGee and the Disco Biscuits co-headlining performance at Brooklyn, NYs McCarren Park Pool on August 15. Umphreys McGee will perform at Torontos The Opera House tomorrow, while the Disco Biscuits are off until its Green Apple performance this weekend.
