Last night, Widespread Panic returned to the Classic Center in Athens for the middle night of its three show run. Joining the group for its hometown performance were a few familiar faces. Dr. Arvin Scott, founder of the Drumming For Success Youth Program and a longtime Panic collaborator appeared mid-way through the second set for a stretch from Airplane into Drums and on through (I Walk On) Guilded Splinters. In addition, Randall Bramblett led a four-piece horn section that contributed to a number of selections throughout the night, such as Weight of the World, Gradle, Good People and a cover of The Bands Ophelia that closed out set two. The Robbie Robertson-penned composition has not been performed by Panic since 2003.
