The Allman Brothers Band is gearing up for this weekends gigs in Memphis and New Orleans after which the group is off until late July. Gregg Allman will fill many of the intervening days on tour with his current solo band. He will be joined by some of his recent Gregg Allman & Friends bandmates, as well as new additions such as longtime Ronnie Earl foil Bruce Katz on keys (Katz opened many of ABB shows in the summer on 1996 with Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters). The other members of Allmans band include: Jerry Jemmott (bass), Steve Potts (drums), Mark McGee (guitar), Jay Collins (sax) and Floyd Miles (percussion). The tour will focus on the Western U.S., opening on May 25 at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, Oregon and continuing through June 10. Then starting on July 13 in Milan, Allman and his group will travel to Europe for their first-ever gigs in both Italy (Pistia, July 14 and Rome, July 15) and Poland (Warsaw, July 17) as well as a show in London.
