Since forming in 2004, non-for-profit voter registration group HeadCount has registered over 50,000 voters across the country. As the 2008 election draws near, the organization, which was founded by Pharmers Almanac author Andy Bernstein and Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein, are looking to bring HeadCount to the next level. HeadCount is currently looking for a fulltime, salaried executive director and several other key positions within the organization. These include a field director (who will lead HeadCounts festival outreach team this summer) and positions within the organizations national leadership team. HeadCount will also bring on up to 75 team leaders and regional coordinators, who will begin training at festivals this summer and lead their own outreach teams at over 500 shows in 2008.

‘We have an opportunity to accomplish something really special here, and we’re getting very serious about achieving that, Bernstein says. This will take things to another level.’

HeadCounts board of directions includes Bob Weir, Al Schnier, Vince Herman, and executives at Superfly, Relix, and JamBase.com. More information on these position, and information on how to apply, can be found at www.headcount.org/positions.asp.
