The Dave Matthews Band closed its brief tour of Australia. on Saturday with a performance at Sydneys Hordern Pavilion. Australian hero Xavier Rudd supplied support duties and performed with the group on two different songs, in the process showing off his skills on two different instruments. First, Rudd played didgeridoo on an extended version of Don’t Drink the Water. Then the multi-instrumentalist switched to lap slide guitar for a take on Neil Youngs Down by the River. Matthews will play a solo show in Dublin, Ireland, on May 23, while Rudd will perform at Austins Antone’s on June 14.
