Two of the most commercially successful bands to emerge from the jam-scene, Dave Matthews Band and the Allman Brothers Band, will share the stage September 8 at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. The event, which is expected to draw approximately 50,000 fans, will benefit the Piedmont Park Conservancy and help raise money for the park’s planned expansion.

‘We’re calling this the ‘Green Concert,’ and we’d like to make it a car-less concert,’ Piedmont Park Conservancy president Debbie McCown. ‘MARTA has two rail stations within walking distance of the park and will be providing shuttle service for the handicapped.’
One member of the Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes, has played with the Dave Matthews Band on numerous occasions. For a look at his history with the Virginia-bred quintet, please click here.
