Guster will get into the festival game this summer by hosting its own Mump Camp in July. The multi-band event will take place on July 28 at Northampton, MAs the Pines, also featuring performances longtime Guster collaborator Ben Kweller, Dispatch offshoot State Radio and Trippin’ Balls (the latter of whom is Gusters Spinal Tap-like jamband persona). Our manager has dubbed it Mump Camp because he wishes in his heart of hearts that we would have named our last two albums Mump Camp— instead he’ll have to settle for a festival in Western Mass, drummer Brian Rosenworcel says. No one will contract the mumps if they attend this concert (bring a lime if you wish to avoid the scurvy though).

Guster will also co-headline the Mansfield, MA edition of the Download Festival with Modest Mouse at the Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts on August 18. The event features the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Neko Case, Wolf Parade and Band of Horses, among others. The group will perform next at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival on June 22.
