From Thursday through Saturday, Tea Leaf Green played a series of intimate hometown shows at Fairfax, CAs 19 Broadway. Enjoying a short break from the road the group used the small shows to debut some new instruments, try out some extended jams and play with several close friends. On Saturday, Everyone Orchestra founder Matt Butler emerged for Zoom Zoom during the groups first set, shortly before local guitar hero Sean Leahy jammed on Have a Drink on Me. The sit-ins continued at the end of set two when Leahy, The Rituals Jordan Feinstein and New Monsoons Phil Ferlino appeared on Planet of Green Love and Truckstop Sally. All four guest musicians then helped Tea Leaf Green close its set with a cover of the Bands Up on Cripple Creek. Tea Leaf Green will appear at Denver, COs Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom this Friday. Keyboardist Trevor Garrod has also added a pair of solo shows to his schedule: August 1 at New Yorks Knitting Factory and August 18 at San Franciscos the Independent (the latter of which finds Garrod on a bill with New Monsoon).
