As many readers know, New Riders of the Purple Sage pedal steel-ace Buddy Cage also hosts a program on Sirius Jam On radio station. On July 4, Cage will welcome an old friend, Donna Jean Godchaux, and a newer friend, the Zen Tricksters Jeff Mattson, into the studio for an extended rap. Cage will play tracks from the upcoming Donna and the Tricksters project in addition to some material recorded in the Sirius studios. Last night, Cage collaborated with the former Grateful Dead singer in a very different content when Godchaux sang with the New Riders aboard the NYC Rockin the River Cruise. The New Riders will appear at Virginias Strasburg Theater tonight, while the Zen Tricksters will play New Yorks Rocks Off cruise with David Gans.
