Middlebury, VT-bred jam-pop trio Dispatch will reunite for three sold out benefit shows at New Yorks Madison Square Garden this coming weekend. Since Dispatch has never played an indoor show to more than 3,000 fans before it officially split in 2004, the group has added a series of warm-up dates prior to its arena debut. Last night the trio played its first official show in three years for approximately 200 seated fans at New Yorks Bowery Ballroom. The gig was recorded for Boulders eTown program and featured an opening set by soul singer RadThe groups set learned on staples like Time Served, Prince of Spades, The General, Carry You and Passerby and featured a public Q & A with hosts Nick and Helen Forster. At the end of the evening Mideturned to the stage to join Dispatch and the Forsters for a show closing version of Bob Marleys War. Dispatch will play another warm-up show at New Yorks Webster Hall tomorrow before headlining Madison Square Garden this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
