Over the weekend a number of world famous musicians performed at the seven continent wide Live Earth concert. As it turns out, among such luminaries as Roger Waters, Madonna, Bloc Party, Spinal Tap, Metallica, Wolfmother, Baaba Maal, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Keith Urban a former Jambands.com New Groove of the Month found his way onstage at the Australian edition of Live Earth. For the past few years ALO singer/keyboardist Zach Gill has been pulling double duty, touring both with ALO and his college friend Jack Johnsons band. On Saturday, July 7, Gill supported Johnson during his Live Earth performance in Australia and later joined the evenings entire cast for a sing-a-long at the end Crowded Houses first performance on home oil since reuniting at Coachella. Gill then boarded a plane and flew back to California for a pair of shows at Quincy, CAs High Sierra on July 8. Other site regulars who performed at Live Earth included John Butler, who also appeared in Australia, and Dave Matthews Band, who played the Giants Stadium with the help of scene regular Rashawn Ross.
