A number of bands associated with the Grateful Deads world converged at Ohios Nelson Ledges Quarry Park over the weekend, including Dark Star Orchestra, David Gans, Donna Jean & the Tricksters, Zero and the Peter Rowan & Tony Rice Quartet. Of course the festival also featured a number of other acts from the jam-scene, such as Keller Williams, Umphreys McGee and the Greyboy Allstars. As a special treat former Zen Tricksters keyboardist Rob Barraco, who has since toured with the Dead, Phil Lesh and Dark Star Orchestra, played with his old friends three times throughout the weekend: the groups day time set Wednesday, its acoustic set Thursday and its Donna and the Tricksters performance Friday. The group also welcomed Dark Star Orchestra guitarist Rob Eaton and his son, Greyspoke guitarist Rob Eaton Jr., to the stage for Operator and Six Feet of Snow and David Gans onstage for Ripple and Brokedown Palace.

In addition to performing with her bands Donna Jean & the Tricksters and Zero, Donna Jean Godchaux also jammed with Boris Garcia, the New Riders, Dark Star Orchestra and her son Zion’s band Boombox.
