Last night in New York, the String Cheese Incident performed the second of its four shows at the Beacon Theater. The group marked the occasion with some surprising covers and a number of guest players. The bands take on Pink Floyds Comfortably Numb occupies the former category along with a version of Sam Bushs Stingray which the group has not interpreted for quite a few years. As for bonus musicians, SCI initially brought out Chris Berry for a Drumz segment that closed out the first set (SCIs Michael Kang will join Chris Berry & Panjea for a post show performance at the Highline Ballroom on Saturday night). Later, Trombone Shorty emerged early in set two, contributing to So What. Finally, the night ended with an Amazing Grace encore that also featured the Blind Boys of Alabama delivering their signature arrangement of the traditional song, set to House of the Rising Sun.
