George Porter Jr. will play his last shows the New Orleans Social Club at the end of the month. The busy New Orleans bassist will perform with the group at the Prince George Folkfest from July 27-28, before devoting his full attention to PBS and his solo projects. Porter recently released his solo album Its Life and will be profiled in the September issue of Relix. In the meantime, Tony Hall will take over bass duties in the New Orleans Social Club. Porter will perform with PBS at New Yorks BB King Blues club this Thursday.
