Last September U-Melt celebrated the release of its sophomore album, The I’s Mind, with a performance at New Yorks Knitting Factory. Instead of taking the traditional ‘CD Release Party’ route and performing the new album in its entirety, U-Melt looked ahead on that September night, debuting four new songs written after The I’s Minds release. Yesterday, however, U-Melt offered a complete rendition of The I’s Mind at East Jewitt, NYs Bellstock. The 14th annual event is a celebration timed with Albany promoter Greg Bells birthday and had featured an impressive number of upstate New York over the years, including moe. and the Ominous Seapods. For the occasion U-Melt offered a The I’s Mind in its entirety, stretching the 72 minute disc to fill their 2 hour set. After playing the album straight through, U-Melt offered one of its newest songs, ‘Moving Day,’ as an encore. U-Melt will perform at Gore, VAs Camp Barefoot on July 26.
