Nearly five years after its final performance, Atlantas Soup will return for one more gig. The group, which toured and recorded from 1995-2002, released four discs (including A Tour of Two Cities, one of the final recordings on the Phoenix Rising label, which was recorded at both Wetlands Preserve and the Cotton Club in Atlanta). The band will take the stage once again on September 29 at Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta for a show that should sell out well in advance. The group pledges to offer the best of Soup, some new tunes and old tracks rarely played live. While no additional dates have been announced, the reference to new compositions leads one to speculate that there may be more on the horizon for the group.
