Mickey Harts ongoing collaborations with tabla master Zakir Hussain has yielded another studio recording. The pair who first performed and recorded together more than thirty years ago in the Diga Rhythm Band will release Global Drum Project on October 2. Other artists enlisted to appear on the disc are: Sikuru Adepoju (talking drum), Giovanni Hidalgo (congas), Niladari Kumar (sitar), Dilshad Khan (sarangi) and Taufiq Qureshi (percussion & vocals). As weve previously reported, Hart, Hussain, Hidalgo and Adepoju will tour as the Global Drum Project for five weeks, starting in Tucson, AZ at Centennial Hall on September 20.
