Yesterday marked the official release date of the new Soulive disc, No Place Like Soul. In addition to featuring the bands new vocalist, Toussaint, this recording also is notable as it is one of the first offerings on the relaunched Stax label. To commemorate the new release, Soulive will perform a free show this evening at the Virgin Megastore in New York Citys Union Square. Music is slated to begin at 7pm and the group will remain on hand to sign CDs. From NYC the group will travel to Chicago for a gig at the Double Door on Thursday night.
