While moe. is off the road until its moe.down festival over Labor Day weekend, guitarist Al Schnier will hit the road next week for a pair of dates with his Al & the Transamericans project. The group also features moe. drummer Vinnie Amico, Strangefolks Eric Glockler on bass, keyboard player Kirk Juhas (Okemah) and Gordon Stone on banjo and pedal steel. Al & the Transamericans will appear at the recently-renovated Lion’s Den in New York City on Thursday, August 16 and then in Boston Harbor, via the Mass Bay Lines MV Freedom in Boston, MA on Friday, August 17th. The group recorded its Electric Company show earlier this summer and it is possible it will release a live recording in the fall.
