Over the long weekend, the Dave Matthews Band made its twelfth annual appearance at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA. Since 2004 the group has performed three night stands at the celebrated venue on the Columbia River Gorge, a tradition it continued this year. Also on hand for the Gorge gigs was Robert Randolph & The Family Band, which opened each of the nights. In turn, Randolph stepped out with the headliners at each of the performances. On Sunday, he appeared during one of his familiar DMB guest vehicles, All Along The Watchtower.’ Saturday saw Randolph join in during Smooth Rider. Finally, on Friday, he sat in on Stand Up, along with Charlottesville guitar player Joe Lawlor.
Dave Matthews Band will participate in the Concert for Virginia Tech on Thursday and then perform on Saturday at Piedmont Park in Atlanta with the Allman Brothers Band.
