This evening Bela Fleck and the Flecktones will appear in Madison, WI at the Orpheum Theater. This is one of the groups final fifteen shows of the year, as the quartet routes to the south and then heads out to California for gigs through October 11. After the tour concludes, the band will be off for the remainder of 2007 and at present has confirmed only three dates for 2008, at the Schnitzer Concert Hall with the Oregon Symphony Orchestra on February 23-25. Beyond that, the band members have announced that they intend to spend much of the year working on their solo projects, and expect to resume active Flecktones performances in November of 2008.

More Dylan Rarities With Jack White

On Wednesday, Jack White made a surprise appearance with Bob Dylan at Nashville, TNs Ryman Auditorium and helped the icon through his first live interpretation of his Meet Me In The Morning, a track from 1975s Blood on the Tracks. Last night Dylan performed at the Ryman once again and brought White onstage for the second day in a row to play Desires One More Cup Of Coffee (Valley Below) which had been in mothballs since November 16, 1993. The pair then dipped even further back to offer the first live reading of Outlaw Blues, a number from Dylans classic 1965 release Bringing It All Back Home. Dylan is off for the Jewish holidays tonight, but will perform at Duluth, GAs The Arena at Gwinnett Center tomorrow evening.
