Marco Benevento will host a weekly residency at New Yorks Sullivan Hall—-the club formally known as the Lions Den—-this January. Since the summer, the longstanding club, which hosted String Cheese Incidents first New York City play among many other shows, has been renovated and reopened with a fresh feel and new sound system. Benevento will appear at the Sullivan Hall each Thursday in January with a different group of friends. Confirmed guests include: Sex Mob slide trumpeter Steven Bernstein, DJ Olive and drummer Bobby Previte (1/3), Slip guitarist Brad Barr (The Slip) and Thamusemeant upright bassist Aimee Curl (1/10), drummers Billy Martin and Calvin Weston and saxophonist Skerik, (1/24) and Slip drummer and JFJO bassist Reed Mathis (1/31). A handful of addition guests will be added in the coming weeks, including the full lineup for Beneventos show on January 17.

The Benevento/Russo Duo will also play a series of Northeast shows later this month. The paired performers will appear at South Burlington, VTs Higher Ground (11/15) with Chris Harford’s Band of Changes, Woodstock, NYs The Bearsville Theatre (11/16), Northampton, MAs Pearl Street (11/17) and Brooklyns the Music Hall of Williamsburg (11/21). The latter gig will also feature support spots from Mocean Worker and Something for Rockets.
