Monterey International a booking agency that represents a diverse mix of musicians, including Joss Stone, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Los Lobos, Adrian Belew, Jackie Greene, Jonah Smith and Dusty Rhodes & The River Band. On Saturday one of the companys agents, Joshua Knight, took in his client Assembly of Dusts performance at Chicagos Martyrs and also made a rare public appearance onstage. Knight, who honed his skills playing percussion in Ohios popular Miami University band Helios took the stage to play percussion on ‘Lost and Amazed’ and ‘Mama during the groups second set. Knight also helped score Assembly of Dust a two night run Keene, NHs The Colonial Theatre from December 30-31. Special guests Ryan Montbleau will supply support duties.

Derek and Tom, Scott and Joe

American Babies wrapped up a string of opening dates for the Derek Trucks Band at Albany, NYs Hart Theatre Sunday night. During his headlining set Trucks invited out American Babies singer/guitarist Tom Hamilton for both Get Out of My Life and his encore, Volunteered Slavery. Trucks also recently collaborated with Ryan Shaw, another rising singer/songwriter, during a string of performances. At both Rochester, NYs Water Street Music Hall and State College, PAs State Theatre Shaw appeared on Above My Head and at Durham, NCs Carolina Theatre he helped the Derek Trucks Band close its show with a version of Joyful Noise.

Derek Trucks will perform at Tokyos Liquid Room on November 26, while American Babies drummer Joe Russo will appear at Brooklyn, NYs Music Hall of Williamsburg tomorrow with longtime collaborator Marco Benevento. Continuing with the Duos recent trend of guest guitarists, American Babies/RANA axeman Scott Metzger will perform with the group for much of its set.
