On Friday night Turkey Bouillon Mafia keyboardist Adam King and guitarist Ben Yurco hosted the first in a series of regular Grateful Dead jams at Burlington, VTs Club Metronome. Throughout the night, the paired performers were joined by a number of familiar faces, including RAQ guitarist Chris Michetti, Liquid Dead drummer Trevor Ainsworth, Trey Anastasio Band vocalist Christina Durfee, Blues for Breakfast bassist Dave Hyman and, perhaps most surprisingly, longtime Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro (who showed off his skills on drums). The night found the veteran players running through a number of The Deads most popular compositions, including Shakedown Street, Estimated Prophet, Eyes of the World and Dark Star, among others. The sessions will continue at the Metronome on January 25, with Seth Yacovone and his drummer Steve Hadeka already confirmed to join with King, Yurco, Ainsworth and Hyman.
