Last night, Jeff Austin Vince Hermans Great American Taxi at a multi-band benefit show for Boulder, COs Watershed School held at the Boulder Theater. Though Austins set was originally billed as a friends performance, the mandolin players lone friend for most the evening turned out to be Yonder Mountain guitarist Adam Aijala. The paired performers ran through a number of tunes, including Steep Grade, Rain Still Falls, Coocoo’s Nest, Spanish Harlem Inc. and Different Day. Soon after, a number of other players took the stage with Austin and Aijala, including Herman and the members of his Great American Taxi, fiddler Bridget Law and the recently reunited Shanti Groove. Austins set concluded with a sing-a-long based around Raleigh & Spencer.

Both Austin and Aijala returned to the stage following Great American Taxis performance for an all-star jam that drew in most the evenings entertainers. As expected, Great American Taxi lead the collective through a number of well known songs, such as Paul & Silas, John Hardy and The Weight. As previously reported, Austin will play another solo show at Nederland, COs Shining Star Cafhis Friday. For this gig, Austins friends will include Benny Galloway and Yonder Mountains Ben Kaufmann.
