Wetlands Preserved: The Story of an Activist Rock Club will begin its theatrical run in mid-March. First Run Features has acquired the film, named Best Documentary at the Asheville Film Festival and Best Unreleased Film at the Stony Awards (it also screened at SXSW, Woodstock and Santa Barbara Film Festivals). Wetlands Preserved will open in New York City at Cinema Village on March 14 and the two weeks later in Los Angeles at Laemmle’s Grande 4-plex. The documentary, directed by site editor Dean Budnick, incorporates archival footage, soundboard recordings and the efforts of a dozen digital animators to chronicle the story of Tribeca’s Wetlands Preserve from February 1989 through September 2001. The film’s trailer can be viewed at the First Run website.
