Gov’t Mule will step in for Steve Winwood at Scottsdale, AZs annual McDowell Mountain Music Festival this spring. The 2004 Lifetime Achievement Jammy winner recently pulled out of his festival headlining spot due to scheduling conflicts unforeseen to Winwood and his management. Other acts confirmed to appear at the gathering include Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, the Subdudes, John Butler Trio, the Wailers, Toubab Krewe and JJ Grey & Mofro. The festival will also pimp a number of Arizona-based bands, including Mojo Farmers, Peppermint James, Mikel Lander & Meridith Moore and The Steve Reynolds Band. In total, over 13 bands will perform at the event from April 25-26,with 100% of the proceeds going directly to local childrens charities. Meanwhile, Winwood will tour the country with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers this summer.
