Sex Mobs Steve Bernstein and Sharon Jones will play a show for their youngest fans on April 6. The pair will revisit the material included on the kid-centric Baby Loves Jazz album during a matinee performance at the Brooklyn Masonic Temple from 2-4 PM. Jones has been on a creative high recently and her backing band, the Dap-Kings, also won big at the Grammys (the bands co-founder Gabriel Roth scored a Record of the Year trophy for his work on Amy Winehouses Rehab, which features the Dap-Kings). In addition to a headlining performance at New Yorks Beacon Theater last Friday, Jones also made a surprise appearance with The Sweet Divines at Brooklyns far more intimate Union Hall on Saturday.
Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings next scheduled appearances will take place Melbourne, Australias Hi-Fi Bar & Ballroom from February 26-27, while Bernsteins Millennial Territory Orchestra will appear at Amsterdams Bimhaus on February 29. Please click here to read our recent site interview with Jones.
