Radiohead, Tom Petty and Jack Johnson will headline the next
multi-band summer gathering, the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival.
The multi-faceted, three-day festival will take place at San
Francisco’s Golden Gate Park from August 22-24, 2008, featuring an
eclectic mix of rock, blues, reggae, jazz, hip-hop, world, soul,
Latin and electronic music on five different stages. The event is
organized by Another Planet and Bonnaroo masterminds Superfly and a
portion of every ticket sold will directly benefit Golden Gate Park.
The world-famous park has hosted a number of mega-events over the
years, including Peter Gabriel’s WOMAD Festival, the Tibetan Freedom
Concert, the Guinness Fleadh Festival and the Love and the Laughter &
Music tribute to Bill Graham, as well as performances by Pearl Jam,
Neil Young and most recently the Dave Matthews Band.
