The Derek Trucks Band will spend March on the road with Santana before the band’s namesake hunkers down at the Beacon for May dates with the Allman Brothers Band. It now appears that the group will traverse the country over the course of the summer with the Soul Stew Revival project. This collective features the DTB with Susan Tedeschi on vocals, Derek’s brother Duane Trucks on a second drum kit along with some representation from Tedeschi’s touring group (Ron Holloway has participated in the past). Following an appearance at Bonnaroo, the Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival will perform at Summerfest, Rothbury and All Good as well as headlining shows in OH, WI, WY, CO, UT and MA, with dates still being added.

‘The Jamgrass Side Project Festival’

Yarmony Grass will return for its third year this coming August. The festival describes itself (a bit tongue in cheek) as ‘the jamgrass side project festival where established jam artists come to pick and play with like-minded progressive western bluegrass players.’ On hand to do just that will be The Emmitt Nershi Band, Railroad Earth, Peter Rowan and Friends, Honkytonk Homeslice Electric, EOTO and Friends, Strings For Industry, Cornmeal, Kyle Hollingsworth, Hot Buttered Rum and others. Yarmony Grass will take place from August 15-17 at Rancho del Rio in Yarmony, Colorado with onsite camping, vending, hiking, swimming, fishing and rafting.
