Bruce Hornsby graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 1974. A bit later this month he will embark on a series of dates with another artist holding a Berklee degree. Hornsby returns to the road on March 26 at the Meymandi Concert Hall in Raleigh, North Carolina for the first in a series of dates with Ricky Skaggs. Eight days earlier, Skaggs will receive an Honorary Doctorate From Berklee. Skaggs will receive this designation, not at the college but at the site of some of his notable appearances: the Grand Ole Opry. The March 18 ceremony also will bestow honorary doctorates on two other deserving musicians: Loretta Lynn and Earl Scruggs.
