Last night, New Monsoon was one of the artists participating in a SXSW Relix/Madison House showcase. This event at Austin’s Club 115 also featured appearances by current New Groove of the month, The Heavy Pets, along with Born In The Flood and the Underground Orchestra. The New Monsoon set was enlivened by a special guest appearance, as the Talking Heads’ Jerry Harrison took the stage with the group for a version of ‘Slippery People’ from the Heads’ ‘Speaking in Tongues.’ Tonight, New Monsoon travels to Houston for a gig at the Last Concert Cafe with the Heavy Pets opening the evening.
