As previously reported, a number of New Orleans musicians will come together to support founding Dirty Dozen Brass Band sousaphonist Kirk Joseph at Tipitinas this Friday. Joseph recently suffered a severe heart attack and, like many musicians, does not have the necessary health insurance needed to cover all his costs.

Joseph is said to be doing well and will perform at the event, along with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Anders Osborne, Papa Mali and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux. The night also promises appearances by Trombone Shorty, Big Sammie Williams, The 101 Runners, Eric Lindell and Jealous Monk, among others.
All proceeds raised from the benefit will help Joseph offset his medical bills through the Tipitinas Foundation. The Tipitinas Foundation, a 501©(3) non-profit organization, has worked diligently to uplift the New Orleans music community since 1997.
