Last night, Bob Weir and RatDog drummer Jay Lane
participated in a benefit for the non-partisan
voter registration organization HeadCount at

Washington, DC’s Bagley Mansion. The suit-clad
audience included a number of Washington bigwigs,
ranging from FCC President, and longtime
Deadhead, Jonathan Adelstein to conservative
commentator Tucker Carlson to representatives
from both the NRA and the League of Conservation
Voters, as well as three members of Congress.
Though he avoided endorsing any particular
candidate, Weir delivered a passionate speech on
the importance of democracy, ending with the
charged message ‘we can do this.’ He then led the
crowd in sing-a-long versions of ‘Ripple’ and
‘Not Fade Away.’ RatDog will appear at Baltimore,

MD’s Rams Head Live this evening.
