After headlining the Chicago edition of the Green Apple Festival at the Lincoln Park Zoo, the new trio featuring Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge and Max Creek guitarist Scott Murawski will play an intimate show at the nearby Martyrs’ on April 20. As previously reported, Kreutzmann and Murawski first met when their mutual friend Mike Gordon organized a quick gig in Costa Rica this past January. Gordon is a longtime Max Creek fan and even tricked Phish into playing a Creek song in the 1980s by convincing his bandmates it was one of his new originals. Kreutzmann and Murawski recently played a gig with Burbridge in Northampton MA and are expected to play a handful of shows together throughout the summer months.
