Marc Brownstein, Aron Magner, Joe Russo and Tom Hamilton performed together as Electron last night for the first time since 2006. The gig took place at Denver, COs Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on an off night from the extended Twisted Conspiracy Tour, which finds Brownstein, Russo and Hamilton backing the British electronic act Younger Brother and Brownstein and Magner performing as Conspirator. As they hinted last week, Electrons first set was a complete version of Brownsteins Chemical Warfare Brigade rock opera, which includes songs like Little Lai, And the Ladies Were the Rest of the Night, Shelby Rose and Floodlights, the latter of which featured a guest appearance by STS9s David Murphy. The groups second set mixed covers with other material from Electrons repertoire, including Hamiltons Simple Gift of Man, Pink Floyds Fearless and the Disco Biscuits Home Again.
The Twisted Conspiracy Tour next stop will be a May 16 appearance at San Franciscos 1015 Folsom. The Disco Biscuits will appear at Philadelphias Electric Factory on May 24.
