G. Love & Special Sauce will celebrate their 15th anniversary releasing their 10th album, Superhero Brother, on June 24 via Brushfire Records. The group, which formed in Boston after lead singer/guitarist Garrett Dutton dropped out of Skidmore College in the early 1990s, will support the album with an extended tour with John Butler Trio and Tristan Prettyman. As of press time, G. Loves outing is scheduled to stretch from a July 31 appearance at Kansas City, MOs Voodoo through a September 13 stop at Telluride, COs Blues and Brews Festival. Fans who purchase their summer tour tickets through online outlets will also receive a special bonus: an exclusive free digital EP comprised of live highlights from the tour. Fans will receive a unique code via email when the tour ends and will be able to download the digital live EP on iTunes. One code will be issued per ticket sold.

The albums first single, Peace, Love and Happiness, was inspired by a trip G. Love took to the favellas (ghettos) of Rio de Janeiro. The experience just hit me really hard, he admits. We had this great day playing music for kids. I just went straight back to the hotel and wrote the song before the show, then performed it for them. A video for the track was shot in early May in Los Angeles. Shot on 16mm film, G. Love is documented performing his new single high above the City Of Angels in a helicopter. The video will debut on MSN.com this Friday, May 29.
