A number of familiar faces will appear at Jackson Hole, WYs first annual Jackson Hole Music Festival on August 16 and 17. Finding a comfortable middle ground between roots-rock and jam, the festival will boast marquee performances by Wilco, The Black Crowes, Son Volt, The Avett Brothers, Medeski Martin and Wood, Backdoor Slam and Kaki King. Though they appeared on the same bill at Wakarusa in 2005, it is extremely rare for a festival to feature both Wilco and Son Volt, whose estranged founding members comprised the seminal alt-country band Uncle Tupelo.

Part of the extended Festival Network, the Jackson Hold Music Festival will take place in an intimate natural outdoor amphitheatre at the base of the Bridger Gondola. The event is actually the first music festival to take place in the scenic setting, which is nestled on the edge of Grand Teton National Park. A handful of additional acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
