Severe weather caused a temporarily suspension of the Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival last night. With winds exceeding 70 miles per hour and intense lightning striking in the vicinity of the Lawrence, Kansas event, the promoters were forced to clear out the festival site shortly after 7PM last night. Some of the performers slated to appear, still worked in an area performance, with members of the Everyone Orchestra jamming with Colorado group Prism in the bar of the Lawrence Econo Lodge. Sunny skies are forecast for today and the festival is expected to resume.
